BASS2010 International Competitions at the UdK and JIB
October 4-10, 2010

There are only a few weeks left to apply for the four different double bass competitions taking place during the Bass2010 double bass convention at the UdK (University of the Arts Berlin) and JIB (Jazz Institute Berlin).

Bassists from 18 to 36 years of age who have not yet made any professional solo recordings are invited to take part in the BASS2010 Solo, Jazz and Orchestral Audition Competitions. Children and teenagers up to the age of 18 may compete in the BASS2010 Youth Competition, which is divided into seven different age groups. Prizes worth up to 5000 Euros have been donated from bassico, Pirastro, Thomastik, the bowmaker Christophe Collinet and the double bass maker Björn Stoll.

Application Deadlines

All applications for the Solo Competition, Jazz Competition and Orchestral Audition Competition must be received by July 31, 2010.

Applications for the Youth Competition must be received by August 15, 2010.
